Welcome to the library! You can get a library card by either coming in person or filling out our online library card sign-up form. If you sign up for a library card in person, you will need to provide a photo ID with your current address. To fill out the online form, click the link to the right titled "Online Library Card Sign-Up Form".

The Librista App

Once you have your library card, you can download the Librista app. This will allow you to access OPAC (which stands for LibraryWorld Online Patron Access Catalog), our library database, right from your phone. You will be able to see what books you have checked out, renew your books, place holds on books, and more! See our Account Log In page for more information on how to download Librista. 

The Libby App

When you get a library card, you will be able to access Libby. This Tennessee R.E.A.D.S./Overdrive app gives you access to thousands of e-books and audiobooks across the state. Download the Libby app from the app store on your phone. Then, select your library branch (we are Stones River). Next, select your library (we are Shelbyville-Bedford County Public Library). Finally, enter your library card number. See the Tennessee R.E.A.D.S. website for more information about Libby and R.E.A.D.S. 

Attention R.E.A.D.S. Patrons

Your library card never expires. However, it does go out of date if you haven’t been in the library to use your card in two or more years. After that, it will be deleted from our system, causing you to no longer be able to use it with the R.E.A.D.S. program.

You will receive a notice through email or text to update your library card account. 

To renew your library card, click the link to the right titled "Renew Your Card for Libby/R.E.A.D.S." and fill out the form to update your account so that you will not experience any delays in receiving books from your R.E.A.D.S./Overdrive account.
